Kippers and brown butter fried egg on sourdough toast
A traditional kippers breakfast or brunch recipe, perfect with a slice of sourdough and fried eggs. These are a very special kippers, from the revered Craster smokehouse.
What you’ll need
- 2 Kippers
- 100g butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 slice of sourdough
Let's Cook!
Step 1
In a non stick frying pan melt the butter and add the kippers, gently warm through allowing the butter to brown. Remove the kippers and place in a warm oven to keep warm.
Step 2
Into the brown butter crack the eggs and fry gently. Meanwhile toast the sourdough and spread with butter
Step 3
Plate the kippers and top the hot sourdough with the fried eggs
