Our winkles (more correctly, periwinkles) are collected from a beautiful Hebridean island by a genuine Hebridean crofter, when he isn't tending his sheep or heaping peats onto his hearth. He has a very broad accent! Winkles have an excellent flavour and if you need to overcome a yukh-snails antipathy to try one, well... you should give it a try. And simply removing them from the shell is a calming experience.
Local fishmongers are great, but where are they? Supermarkets have fish, it doesn’t make the cut! The best fish? We’ve got you.
