These prawns from Greenland have been one of our best selling lines for over 20 years. We've tasted many cold water prawns and there is absolutely no doubt that these are the finest. These are the pink prawns that you commonly find in prawn cocktails and salads. They're sweet and soft and MSC certified to boot! It doesn't really get much better than that. They are also a wonderful addition to almost any seafood dish; a fish pie, a seafood pasta, anything! Just throw a few of these in to the mix, you won't regret it. When it comes to defrosting, we recommend defrosting them in a sieve over a bowl in the fridge overnight.
How you've been using our best North Atlantic peeled prawns...
- "Consistently reliable regular order with a multitude of uses: salads, sandwiches, curries and this time part of my Malaysian broth dish"
- "I keep these in the freezer for emergencies. They are great on a salad or in an omelette"
- "Wonderful, tasty & succulent... I usually have them with an avocado and Marco Pierre White's recipe to Marie Rose Sauce for lunch - Delicious"
Sustainability - Our rating 8/10
Our cold water prawns are from the MSC-certified sustainable fisheries of Greenland. The fishery has gone through a number of independent certifications to receive this status in 2012 and again in 2018. The take from the fishery is below the maximum sustainable yield, meaning the stock is growing. The 'Good Fish Guide' rate them as a 'best choice' seafood.
